Enjoy a lovely winter hike on cleared trails in Küstelberg, Medebach’s highest village.
The tour starts at the hiking information center in the town center. The route first follows the “Sauerland-Höhenflug” trail toward the source of the Orke River, which you’ll pass on your right. You’ll hike downhill through beautiful beech forests with winter views. Running parallel to the Orke River, the trail leads back to the village, where it continues on a loop around the village. If you’d like, you can warm up and refuel at a café or restaurant in the village center or at the hiking lodge on nearby Schlossberg,
The winter hiking trails in the Medebach vacation region do not have any special trail markings, but they are easy to follow using the map provided here or the GPX track.

Information on Cleared Winter Hiking Trails
We would like to point out that local snow removal services prioritize ensuring public safety above all else. Depending on weather and snow conditions, this means that public roads take priority over winter hiking trails and are cleared first. As a result, there may be delays in clearing the winter hiking trails. However, the city is committed to clearing the winter hiking trails for you.
Thank you for your understanding, and enjoy your winter hiking adventures!
